Yes, it's true. I've been on dA for a few years now, but under a different name.
The point of a new account was to not confuse people with photos I'm IN versus photos I've TAKEN.

of course I read profiles! many people don't though, I know what you mean. mine says "send me a message before you add me" and "I'm denying your band" .... and I got, no lie, ELEVEN friend requests today, all from bands and random people who don't know me and have not messaged me.
